I’ve been chasing stories since the seventh grade, when I joined my middle school newspaper and realized I liked writing more than just about anything else. By high school, I was hooked, and I even made the difficult decision to choose the newspaper elective over jazz band. Over four years writing for The Highlander Newspaper, I wrote about everything from politics to sports to satire.
In 2021, I enrolled at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications to pursue a BS in Magazine, News, and Digital Journalism, which I completed in 2025.
I arrived thinking I’d write about sports, but I quickly decided that sports journalism felt too dry. I tried politics and hard news too, but that just made me sad. Then I joined Mixtape Magazine, a student-run publication about the world of hip-hop.
I soon became enamored with the world of music journalism - I started digging through as many Rolling Stone and Pitchfork articles as I could, finding my favorite writers, and learning about the industry. I also picked up a minor in Music History & Cultures.
I started writing reviews and profiles for The Daily Orange, one of the top college newsrooms in the country. I became a staff writer for 20 Watts Magazine, Syracuse’s premier music magazine — and quickly found a home. By junior year, I was Head of Digital Content, managing a team of writers, shaping our editorial plan, and coordinating collaboration across departments. After spending a semester abroad in London, I returned to serve as 20 Watts’ Editor-in-Chief for my senior year. I oversaw coverage on all things music in Central New York, edited every article, and contributed pieces of my own — including interviews with rising artists like Spill Tab, Hannah Jadagu, and Truman Sinclair.
In college, I built a strong portfolio of independent music journalism. I’ve written features, reviews, and interviews, always with a focus on storytelling, discovery, and connection. I know how to pitch, report, fact-check, edit, and publish. I know how to lead a team. And most importantly, I know how to find hidden gems in the algorithm-driven world of contemporary music discovery.
I'm passionate about the future of music journalism — especially as it continues to evolve with social media, where many audiences already go to discover new music. I love making multimedia and written content, curating playlists, profiling emerging artists, and analyzing all of the curious ways that culture moves online.
